Hey everyone,

I want to take a moment to personally address a legal matter that’s come to public attention over the past 24 hours.

As of 31 March 2025, VRCDN has been named in a class action lawsuit filed in the High Court of Justice. The suit has been brought forward by Nuki & Associates—on behalf of a group of former users who allege that we suspended their accounts unfairly after they streamed copyrighted material through our platform.

To be completely transparent: yes, we suspended those users. Yes, they were streaming full-length copyrighted films. And no, we don’t believe their excuses hold up—legally or otherwise.

Among the claims made in the filing:

  • That streaming Shrek in 4K to a virtual nightclub was “fair use due to dance context”

  • That hosting a continuous 72-hour loop of Bee Movie “qualified as satire”

  • And, in one particularly bold case, that watching Shrek with Bee Movie audio dubbed over it constituted “transformative content”

We’ve reviewed the documentation. It includes a 14-page manifesto titled “Let the Bees Be Free”, a diagram comparing Shrek to mythological archetypes, and at least three citations of “it was just a bit of fun.”

While we can appreciate creativity, VRCDN has always stood for respecting content rights and maintaining a fair, safe, and compliant platform. Our Terms of Service are clear. Repeated violations lead to action—and no, wearing a VR headset backwards does not exempt you from international copyright law.

To help explain the lawsuit from the claimant's perspective, Nuki & Associates have prepared an official video statement outlining their position.

This lawsuit doesn’t change anything about how we operate. VRCDN is running smoothly. Our moderation systems are working as intended. And we’ll continue to stand by creators, uphold copyright protections, and—when necessary—politely decline to become the internet’s go-to source for Bee Movie marathons.

Thanks for your time, and happy April Fools.
